SBL Technologies becomes the first distributor of Safe Entry Stations powered by Predictmedix Inc. and JUICEWORKS

TORONTO, June 14, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — JUICEWORKS is pleased to announce the expansion of their Safe Entry program with the institution of their first distributor, SBL Technologies Inc (SBL).

Veterans in risk mitigation, SBL has a long-standing reputation for being at the forefront of innovation in workplace safety, particularly for heavy industrial users. Their territory will include North America and the Caribbean. With a strong presence in Canada and the US and a partnership with Sparta Health, SBL is aggressively positioned to permeate the industry vertical with this new offering.

Safe Entry Stations are powered by a proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm developed by Predictmedix Inc. (CSE:PMED, OTCQB:PMEDF). The clinically-based AI was designed by data scientists and clinicians to identify multiple symptoms of infectious disease, displaying the result in the form of a red or green light.

The technology can also be configured to screen for impairment by THC and alcohol. All screening is entirely autonomous and designed to protect the privacy of the end-user. Completely unique to other solutions on the market, the AI is currently patent pending in North America.

“SBL is an ideal partner to bring this technology to market. They have a unique perspective on the space, having been immersed in it for many years, and appreciate the value of the solution as a long-term risk mitigation tool,” commented Jonathan Auger, President & Founder of JUICEWORKS.

Rich Robillard, Managing Director of SBL Testing Technologies, said, “SAFE ENTRY is an incredible screening technology for short and long-term pandemic response/business continuity strategies. The ability to objectively screen for infectious disease symptoms non-invasively and in seconds presents an entirely new first layer of risk mitigation. Albeit responding to the current COVID-19 pandemic and further potential waves or variants, or planning for future infectious diseases that could impact business continuity, SAFE ENTRY is a critical risk mitigation tool.”

Thermal scanner placed at Sherwood Park seniors home to detect COVID-19

EDMONTON — A new scanner could be coming to some Alberta seniors’ homes to help protect residents from people who might be carrying infectious diseases.

A thermal scanner has been placed at Aster Gardens in Sherwood Park, the first of its kind in Canada. It’s a piece of technology manufactured by Calgary-based Connectus, originally designed to help pro-sports teams screen personnel.

“It would allow us to do a much more thorough scan and recognize who might be asymptomatic, or may not know they are carrying the disease to be identified,” Karen Fitzgerald, general manager of Aster Gardens, said.

According to Fitzgerald, for every person who goes through the device it works out to be roughly $1.50 per person to operate.

“COVID-19 has hit the seniors the hardest,” she said.

“We have to be diligent and do everything we can to keep them safe.”

A resident of Aster Gardens, Eugenia Stocki moved into the facility on March 26 with her husband Forest. She said “it’s very good” to have the state of the art technology in the building.

What are the coronavirus mask and distancing rules around Tampa’s Super Bowl?

Will I get fined if I don’t wear a mask? Can I have a party? Is anyone actually enforcing the law?

By Jay Cridlin and Zachary T. SampsonPublished Feb. 5

When Super Bowl revelers file into WTR at Tampa’s Godfrey Hotel this weekend for poolside parties featuring Diplo, Steve Aoki and 50 Cent, they’ll have to wear masks.

They’ll enter through a device that uses artificial intelligence to scan for common coronavirus symptoms; if one pops up, they’ll be ushered aside for a rapid antigen test. They’ll have to stay socially distanced and seated, even inside the party’s $50,000 luxury cabanas. And on the way out the door, they’ll be offered a take-home COVID-19 test kit.

“Even though it’s outdoors, it’s still a big, big venue, and there’ll be people, so we want to take every precaution,” said Gino LoPinto, operating partner of E11even nightclub in Miami, which is partnering with Barstool Sports to host the parties. “It’s definitely more proactive, just from a safety standpoint.”
